Council of Industry Board Meeting - January 2024

The Board meeting on January 18th will feature a presentation by Linda Malave, Regional Director of Empire State Development and Executive Director of the Regional Economic Development Council.

Linda will present the recently revised Mid Hudson Regional Economic Development Council's new Strategic Plan. The plan sets regional economic development priorities and will be used to guide state funding for projects. The plan was written with the help of Pattern for Progress and many Council of Industry members participated in the focus groups that were part of its drafting.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

• 5:30 to 6:00: Networking
• 6:00 to 6:15: Welcome and introductions
• 6:15 to 7:00: Program presentation and Q&A - The Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Strategy
• 7:00 to 7:45: Board meeting

About the Presenter 

Linda Malave is the Regional Director of Empire State Development’s Mid-Hudson Regional Office. Linda oversees state-led economic development efforts in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties that contribute to job creation and economic growth throughout the Mid-Hudson Region. Linda possesses over twenty years of leadership experience and her background includes a long history of civic engagement and working with diverse populations seeking housing and services to improve their lives. Prior to joining ESD, served as the Associate Executive Director for Hudson River Housing, a nonprofit housing and service provider in Dutchess County, overseeing residential services, programs, and staff. Linda lives in the City of Poughkeepsie and can often be found with a camera photographing the scenic beauty of the Mid-Hudson region.
