Event Cancellation, Credit, and Substitution Policy
Substitutions
Substitutions may be made at any time at no additional cost. For events with limited availability or firm commitments, the Council of Industry encourages substitutions whenever possible. When appropriate, the Council of Industry is happy to assist in identifying suitable substitutions, including educators, students, manufacturers, or other industry partners, to help ensure full participation.
Signature Events and Large Programs
Registration fees for signature events and large programs are non-refundable once registration is confirmed, as the Council of Industry is required to commit attendance counts and related costs in advance. In lieu of refunds, substitutions are strongly encouraged, and the Council of Industry will work with registrants when possible to help fill reserved seats.
Classes and Standard Programs
Registrants may cancel up to 48 hours prior to the start of a class or standard program for a refund or future credit, unless otherwise noted. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start of the program, or failure to attend (“no shows”), will be billed for the full program cost.
Certificate Programs and Multi-Session Programs
For certificate programs and other multi-session programs where materials and instructor costs are incurred in advance, cancellations made after registration may be eligible for a credit toward a future program, at the discretion of the Council of Industry. Refunds are not typically available for these programs.
Event-Specific Terms
Certain events or programs may have additional or different cancellation terms. Any such terms will be clearly communicated at the time of registration.
