Barbara Ann Livermore Reer

Assistant Dean for Workforce, Career Development and Apprenticeship Initiatives Barbara Ann Livermore Reer, BSEE, recently celebrated 20 years of creating innovated career pathways in technology fields at SUNY Ulster. She has led the SUNY Workforce Team in creating stackable microcredentials, delivering Related Instruction training for Apprentices and securing more than $2.3 million dollars to support manufacturing training. Barbara was instrumental in the vision for The Pfeiffer Technology and Innovation Lab which houses many of the STEM programs, the development of the AOS in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, the vision and creation of an inclusive manufacturing program for Autistic and Neurodivergent students and is a leader in developing credit/non-credit blended classrooms resulting in non-credit to credit equivalency pathways. In 2021 her team was awarded the Future of Work – Mid-Hudson Region manufacturing grant for $1.2M and she currently leads the Hudson Valley SUNY Community Colleges in advancing manufacturing training on the regional level. She has written and presented on The Changing Face of Technical Career Pathways in Higher Education, It’s all in the Package: Developing Successful Career Programs, Collaboration and Partnerships to Develop Innovative Green Programs. She was awarded the 2019 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service and the 2019 Krembs Family Innovation Award.
