Manufacturing PreApprenticeship Program - Dutchess Community College

Event Details

Dutchess Community College’s pre-apprenticeship training program is designed to expose you to careers in manufacturing to prepare you for a job and/or educational opportunities. 

Students will complete asynchronous coursework online and attend in-person classes 2x a week.  Topics covered in this program include:

  • Basic measurement & math fundamentals
  • LEAN manufacturing & manufacturing processes
  • Blueprint reading
  • Safety in the workplace
  • Career pathways within manufacturing
  • Communication skills for the workplace
  • Job search strategies & resume development
  • Tips to finding a NYSDOL registered apprenticeship program

Students will also prepare for and take the exam to become a Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). The certification is focused on basic manufacturing concepts, demonstrating your potential for high-demand, entry-level manufacturing roles.

Schedule: April 2 – June 27th, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m

Course Fee: $1,050
