Dutchess Community College’s pre-apprenticeship training program is designed to expose you to careers in manufacturing to prepare you for a job and/or educational opportunities.
Students will complete asynchronous coursework online and attend in-person classes 2x a week. Topics covered in this program include:
- Basic measurement & math fundamentals
- LEAN manufacturing & manufacturing processes
- Blueprint reading
- Safety in the workplace
- Career pathways within manufacturing
- Communication skills for the workplace
- Job search strategies & resume development
- Tips to finding a NYSDOL registered apprenticeship program
Students will also prepare for and take the exam to become a Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). The certification is focused on basic manufacturing concepts, demonstrating your potential for high-demand, entry-level manufacturing roles.
Schedule: April 2 – June 27th, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m
Course Fee: $1,050
