Maribel Cruz-Brown - Senior Vice President, Customer Solutions

Maribel Cruz-Brown has been with the New York Power Authority for 25 years and serves the public as the Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions. She leads several customer-serving groups including economic development, clean power supply offerings, solution development for energy efficiency, transportation electrification, and grid flexibility. She also oversees the energy resource management group that forecasts and schedules customer load along with trading merchant electric generations into the NY Independent Systems Operator.

Maribel works with internal cross-functional business partners and external stakeholders statewide to advance NYPA’s VISION 2030 and support the state goals of the CLCPA or the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Maribel is focused on maximizing customer service, advancing clean energy technologies and securing long-term program effectiveness.  Her group is responsible for serving various customer segments comprised of more than 1,200 customers with annual sales of over $2B while effectively maintaining NYPA’s reputable customer satisfaction score.

She is passionate about serving as a mentor increasing retention and recruitment for NYPA’s continued success and contributions to customers and the state. She has also co- chaired NYPA’s Employee Resource Group, Women in Power, for several years bringing developmental training and career planning to its members.

Prior to joining NYPA, Maribel supervised overhead distribution crews at Con Edison that installed and repaired residential and commercial electrical service and worked for several years at Stewart Stamping Inc, a large international supplier of precision metal stamped components and assemblies. 

Maribel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and an MBA in Executive Management with Pace University, Lubin School of Business. She is a Certified Energy Manager and Energy Auditor and lives with her family in Yonkers, NY.
