The Officers and Directors of The Council of Industry cordially invite you to attend our 2025 Annual Luncheon & Expo.

Join us on Friday, November 21st at the beautiful Grandview on the river in Poughkeepsie, NY for our annual Luncheon & Member / Associate Member Expo.

The Expo opens at 11:00 am and Lunch will follow at 12:15 pm.

Keynote Speaker: 

Maribel Cruz-Brown - Vice President, Economic Development & Key Account Management at the New York Power Authority (NYPA) - will speak about programs that the NYPA runs to help businesses and manufacturers.

Programs include Recharge NY, which offers businesses a discounted power allocation if they commit to job creation or retention in New York State. 

Maribel will also discuss how the NYPA aims to partner with businesses to find workable solutions moving forward, and what that looks like on the day-to-day. 

We will also recognize the Fall 2024 and 2025 recipients of the Certificate in Manufacturing Leadership.

The Member/ Associate Member Expo will precede the luncheon from 11:00 - 12:15. There is no charge to be part of the expo, but we require participants to purchase two seats.

Maribel Cruz-Brown - Vice President, Economic Development & Key Account Management at the New York Power Authority

Maribel Cruz-Brown has been with the New York Power Authority for more than 20 years, serving as Director of Projects and Chief of Staff to the Chief Commercial officer before recently assuming the role as Vice President of Economic Development and Key Account Management in 2022. 

In her roles, Maribel supported the execution and strategy of key inter-departmental and cross-functional projects, including economic development power supply offerings, implementation of energy efficiency and digital offerings, and advancing customer sited renewable energy projects and electric vehicle charging stations. She also worked with stakeholders statewide to advance NYPA’s VISION 2030 and support the state goals of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.                                                                              

Overall, Maribel has managed multiple groups over the years and her agile responsiveness is key to ensuring positive relationship management. She has also co-chaired NYPA’s Employee Resource Group, Women in Power, for several years bringing developmental training and career planning to its members. 

Maribel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and an MBA in Executive Management with Pace University, Lubin School of Business. She is a Certified Energy Manager and Energy Auditor, living with her family in Yonkers, NY.
